Kinkofa’s Roots Discovery Kit provides autosomal DNA analysis.
Autosomal DNA tests analyze the DNA from both parents to provide you info about your maternal and paternal ancestry dating back over the last ~500 years. It also has the power to identify relatives within a few generations, such as siblings, cousins, grandparents, etc.
This makes us different from other DNA tests designed for people of the African Diaspora that analyze mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA) and Y-DNA (Y chromosome DNA).
mtDNA and Y-DNA tests provide information about a person's maternal or paternal ancestry respectively, they only provide information about a single line of ancestry and do not connect you to relatives.

This means they have to meet high standards to obtain both state and federal certifications and submit themselves to regular inspections.
